Barcelona suffered yet another injury blow on Sunday in El Clasico as Xavi Espart was forced off on the half hour mark with a problem.
Espart started again at right-back for Hansi Flick’s side but picked up a knock early on after a challenge by Aurélien Tchouaméni and was replaced by Alejandro Balde.
The news is another blow for Barcelona at a time when they are already without Eric Garcia, Andreas Christensen and Jules Kounde due to injury.
It’s also a massive setback for the teenager who has burst
into the first team this season and really impressed for the Catalan giants.
There’s no indication yet of how serious the problem is for Espart but we may get an update from Flick after the game.
Barcelona are not due to play again until the weekend when they face Alaves in La Liga. Flick’s side then go on to face Aston Villa in the Champions League and then Atletico Madrid in La Liga.
