It has to be an awkward situation in some ways for Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka.
The Germany international is on his way out the door (maybe headed to AC Milan?) in Bavaria, but it is an exit that he probably does not really want to make. When talking about the future of the team after Bayern Munich 3-0 victory in the DFB-Pokal final vs. VfB Stuttgart, Goretzka can only foresee greatness — and maybe a Champions League title in the club’s near future.
“If the majority of the team and especially
the coach stay together, then I have no doubt that sooner or later they can win the Champions League. I wish them all the best,” Goretzka said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Goretzka probably is not wrong. The squad is well-equipped to win a UCL crown soon, but does not need a few tweaks to be in a good position to get there. Can Max Eberl, Christoph Freund, and the other execs put together a winning plan for the summer transfer window?
We should find out soon.
