Rutgers football has selected its 5 captains for the 2026 season. Wide receiver KJ Duff, offensive lineman Kobe Asamoah, linebacker Sean Allison, STUD Jesse Ofurie and long snapper Michael O’Connor have all been named Rutgers captains for the 2026 season.
Last season, Duff totaled 60 catches for 1082 yards and seven touchdowns. His best performance last season came against Purdue, where he hauled in 6 catches for 241 yards and one touchdown. He led the nation last year with 22 contested catches, according
to ProFootballFocus. His high catch performance of the season last year was 7 against Iowa for 92 yards. He was named second-team All-Big Ten for his efforts.
Last season, Asamoah started all 12 games at right guard, was selected Second Team All-America by ESPN, and was voted honorable mention All-Big Ten by the coaches and media. This offseason, he was named to the Athletics “Freaks List” and was selected to the preseason First Team All-America by Pro Football Network.
Allison transferred to Rutgers this offseason after playing 12 games for Drake last season. Last season, Allison recorded 126 tackles, 8 tackles for loss and two sacks for the Bulldogs. He was also named a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award, which is given to the best FCS defensive player in the country and was voted Pioneer Football League Defensive Player of the Year.
Ofurie played in all 12 games last season for Rutgers, largely on special teams and recorded 5 total tackles. He was also mentioned several times during the off-season as a player to watch out for this season.
O’Connor was the long snapper for all 12 games last season and was named to the Academic All Big-Ten list.
