Purdue football has a new coach. This is obvious. If you’re reading this I really didn’t need to tell you that, but it’s important context if you stumble upon this article. This week I wanted to know if now was the time to replace Shout as the pre-4th quarter song given that there’s a new coach, a new start, a new chance to define Purdue football. The results did surprise me.
Surprising me the most was that Shout came in second place with 27% behind the winner Crazy Train with 35%. Not sure if Ozzy’s
recent death juiced those numbers but I do know that has always been a popular choice. I think why I’m surprised is one of the problems with the internet. If you complain about something you’ll always find people who will agree with you and puff you up and so you start to believe hey, maybe everyone thinks like I think. Turns out, that’s not the case here. A lot of people like Shout!
Next, I wanted predictions on what the outcome of Saturday’s game would be. And yes, I included the odds because yes there is a sponsorship attached to this post from our friends at Fanduel but I wanted to include it because as we all know, good teams win, great teams cover. Will Purdue be a great team this weekend?
66% of respondents think Purdue will win and cover while an additional 32% think Purdue will win but not cover. That leaves 2% who think Purdue will lose this Saturday’s game. Given that Purdue is on an 11 game losing streak I guess I shouldn’t be TOO surprised that some people can see only doom and gloom so maybe 2% isn’t so bad. We’ll find out who was right in just over 24 hours.
