The Las Vegas Raiders have struck early in the legal-tampering period of NFL free agency by keeping one of their few bright spots from the 2025 season.
According to several reports, the Raiders have agreed to a three-year contract with starting cornerback Eric Stokes. It is a three-year, $30 million deal with $20 million in guaranteed money
Stokes got exactly what his aimed for when he signed a one-year contract with the Raiders for $3.5 million. He was a first-round draft pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2021, but struggled there.
He played well for the Raiders and hew as their top cornerback. He started all 16 games he played.
The Raiders have done early work on the cornerback position. Sunday night, they traded for nickel cornerback Taron Johnson from the Buffalo Bills. The Bills, who were going to release Johnson, got a sixth-tround pick and the Raiders got a seventh rounder in the deal.
The Raiders could add to the position in free agency and the draft as well, including with the No. 14 overall pick they received from the Baltimore Ravens in the Maxx Crosby trade.
