The lore of El Grande Americano in Mexico continues to grow. Ludwig Kaiser had a tumultuous past few days after being arrested for battery charges. Rumored details emerged later that painted the incident in a different light, one which many view positively. El Grande Americano is scheduled to wrestle Original Grande Americano in mask versus mask on May 30 in Monterrey, Mexico. There were concerns about Kaiser’s availability to travel internationally due to the arrest, and one appearance was canceled
for Thursday night. Kaiser made up for it the following night as the guest at the Serenata for El Grande Americano in Mexico City on Friday. The masked man received a hero’s welcome that brought him to tears.
AAA posted a clip from the Serenata for El Grande Americano. Kaiser soaked in the adulation wiping tears from his eyes, then he went into full hype mode to match the crowd’s level of excitement. EGA even led a singalong of Cielito Lindo. The lyrics were very appropriate for the moment. “Ay, ay, ay, ay, canta y no llores.” (Sing, don’t cry.)
Fan footage circulated of El Grande Americano smooching his lady, Andrea Bazarte, then playing with the crowd in good spirits.
Back to business at hand. Last week’s episode of AAA TV closed with a passionate showdown between El Grande Americano and Original Grande Americano. OGA and the Creeds tried to unmask Bravo. EGA ran out for the save, but he was not allowed to get physical with OGA per stipulation of the contract. The man who starts a fight with the other will be immediately unmasked, thus OGA trying to goad EGA into a punch. There were no such rules for Rayo. He hit OGA, and that cleared the way for EGA to clean house on the Creeds. EGA grabbed the mic to shout that he will win OGA’s mask for the honor of Mexico, Pimpinela Escarlata, Ojitos de Huevo, and Andrea.
The mask versus mask showdown is shaping up with strong potential as a match of the year contender in all of professional wrestling. A victory for El Grande Americano would springboard him into even higher heights of greatness as his legend grows.
