AEW’s big WrestleDream pay-per-view (PPV) is in the books. Sat., Oct. 18’s show in St. Louis closed with Darby Allin holding the AEW flag high in Chaifetz Arena after Sting returned to help him win an
“I Quit” match over Jon Moxley.
That wrapped up an event that, including the Saturday Tailgate Brawl pre-show, featured 13 total matches. Only one title changed hands out of the five championship bouts on the card, and the ROH interim Women’s Television title Mercedes Moné took from Mina Shirakawa wasn’t even on the pre-show line-up. Hangman Page and Kris Statlander retained their World titles, and picked up new challengers in the process. We also saw Jurassic Express beat The Young Bucks for $500K, The Hurt Syndicate win a shot at the Trios titles, and Jamie Hayter put down the Toxic Spider, Thekla.
That was just some of what happened at WrestleDream — which means Tony Khan and the stars of All Elite Wrestling should have plenty to talk about at the media scrum kicking off right about now.
So click play up above and get ready for reactions to an eventful WrestleDream post-show. The scrum will also likely include some fun in-character work, comments on recent AEW-related news & rumors, some hints of what’s to come for the company & its partners, and who knows what else. These things do have a history of being pretty eventful…
