The Tennessee Titans will make their 2026 NFL season debut by hosting the New York Jets at Nissan Stadium in Week 1 this Sunday. There’s so much to learn about these new-look Titans. Head coach Robert Saleh and the team’s new coordinators Brian Daboll and Gus Bradley will officially make their debuts.
The most important aspect of the Titans’ 2026 campaign is the development of sophomore quarterback Cam Ward. Coach Daboll is being tasked with overseeing his ascension. The Titans’ new-look passing game
will finally be unveiled versus the Jets.
This is a deep receiving core in Tennessee. Carnell Tate was drafted at fourth overall to grow alongside Ward. Wan’Dale Robinson was signed in free agency for his ability to be a high-volume, reliable weapon. Calvin Ridley is also back, and Elic Ayomanor had an excellent training camp. The Titans are four-deep at receiver.
Who do you think will lead the Titans in receiving in Week 1? It’s an interesting question. Fans would love to see Tate explode after he failed to record a single preseason catch. Robinson should be Ward’s most reliable weapon, possibly leading the Titans in targets. Ridley is a big-play threat who once played in Daboll’s offense at Alabama.
Running backs and tight ends should also be heavily involved in the Titans’ passing attack. Tony Pollard, Tyjae Spears, Gunnar Helm, and Daniel Bellinger will play notable roles in Daboll’s offense. Ward will be tasked with spreading the ball around to a plethora of players.
The Titans should also establish the run via Pollard and Spears. This Titans-Jets rematch is littered with revenge storylines. From Saleh to John Franklin-Myers, Jacob Martin, Jermaine Johnson, Solomon Thomas, and Tony Adams, Tennessee is loaded with former Jets players. Who leads the Titans’ new-look passing attack in receiving is another question.
