Real Madrid defender Antonio Rüdiger can’t wait to get going under new head coach Jose Mourinho. Real Madrid announced the German international’s renewal until 2027 on Tuesday. He spoke to the media from the German national team’s camp at the World Cup.
“I can’t say too much, but I can say that I’m incredibly excited. Finally, I’m going to play under his management,” said Rüdiger. “There were many conversations with him in the past, but for some reason, it never came to fruition. That’s why I’m even
happier to welcome him to us now.”
Rüdiger has played at Chelsea and AS Roma in the preceding years of his career before joining Real Madrid. José Mourinho has also coached AS Roma and Chelsea but at different times. However, their paths are finally crossing at Real Madrid. Real Madrid have already reinforced the center-back with Imbrahima Konate and are looking to make at least one more signing in the position. Rüdiger is still expected to play a vital role as an experienced figure.
