What looked like a wild attempt to keep as many quarterbacks as possible on the roster, the Cleveland Browns are currently down to the traditional three. Tyler Huntley was released on Sunday and Kenny Pickett was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders.
That leaves starting veteran Joe Flacco and rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders to man the most important position in football. Huntley could return to the practice squad, but the Browns have two first-round picks in the 2026 NFL draft that seem likely
to be used on the quarterback of the future.
Following the Pickett trade, Cleveland has 10 future draft picks in 2026:
- Own picks in rounds 1-5
- 1st round pick from Jacksonville (2025 draft day trade)
- 5th round pick from Las Vegas (QB Kenny Pickett trade)
- 6th round pick from Detroit (DE Za’Darius Smith trade)
- 6th round pick from New York (DT Jowon Briggs trade)
- 7th round pick from Seattle (DE Za’Darius Smith trade)
The Browns also have an extra selection in the 2027 NFL draft, a fifth-round pick from the Houston Texans from a deal that happened right before the start of the 2025 NFL draft.
