It’s time for the Hump Day rumors to strike again. Let’s read up.
Lead Rumor: Clockwork Carnage origins
We learned just days ago that AEW has created a new match concept called Clockwork Carnage. The rules were confusing enough that they made sure to release a video to explain them. Basically, it’s a mash up of a Casino Gauntlet and an Iron Man match.
According to Self Made Pro, that wasn’t originally the idea they had for Will Ospreay’s AEW world championship match at WrestleDream. Previous discussions allegedly involved a six-person
elimination match with rules that were apparently “very close to the Elimination Chamber.”
That is, of course, the gimmick match WWE uses each year in the lead up to WrestleMania.
Self Made also claims the reason they went this route is because they didn’t feel they had enough time to build a proper singles title match so they wanted to do something “fun and unique with this concept.”
I’ll let you decide if that’s what this sounds like to you.
Other rumors floating around

- For whatever it’s worth, Joe Hendry told TMZ’s Inside the Ring that WWE gave him “a lot of creative freedom” with both his album that just released and the videos for a couple songs from it.
- Necro Butcher put on Facebook that he has signed a “basic legends deal with the WWE.” PW Insider later said they got confirmation that he has signed a “nostalgia deal” with the company.
