The Buffalo Bills and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will meet for the fourteenth time this afternoon. Buffalo has just five victories in those previous thirteen matchups, so it hasn’t been an advantageous mark
for the Bills throughout their franchise history. Both teams enter this one in need of a victory.
Buffalo was thoroughly outplayed, outcoached, and embarrassed last week, losing 30-13 to the Miami Dolphins. The Bucs, meanwhile, dropped a close game to the first-place New England Patriots, losing 28-23. Both teams are dealing with plenty of injuries, and both teams sit at 6-3 overall this season. Both teams need a win to keep pace in their respective crowded playoff fields, as well.
Both teams also have quarterbacks who were drafted in the top ten of the 2018 NFL Draft. Baker Mayfield went No. 1 overall to the Cleveland Browns, but he’s found a home in Tampa Bay. Josh Allen went No. 7 overall to Buffalo, and he’s been a mainstay among the NFL statistical leaderboards since coming into his own during the 2020 NFL season. Which quarterback will lead his team to victory on a cold, blustery day in Western New York? In around three hours, we’ll have that answer.
