On this week’s episode of Raw, GUNTHER was booed out of the building as he gloated about John Cena tapping out “like a little bitch” in his retirement match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The Ring General didn’t have to say much more than that, because the heat on him from WWE fans was overwhelming.
In a much more relaxed interview this week on TMZ’s Inside the Ring, the man who forced Cena to finally give up was asked if he has anything to say to help give WWE fans some peace of mind about the finish.
As you may have guessed, the Ring General wasn’t interested in soothing fans who are upset about what happened.
“Stop crying. Okay? Life goes on. That’s it.”
GUNTHER explained that Cena is set for life in retirement, so it was an objectively great way to go out.
“Just objectively, it was like a picture perfect ending for a career. I mean, the guy was on top for, how long did he do it? 25 years or something? Now he called it quits, at his own decision, more or less, [to say] okay that’s my tour. And he’s retiring now a made man, set up for life. I think that’s the ideal outcome you would wish for every wrestler when they end their career.
So I don’t know what everybody is crying about, actually, to be honest, because…it’s the ultimate achievable outcome, I think. So people need to learn to live with that a little bit. I don’t think it was a sad occasion. Life goes on.”
GUNTHER also teased that you’ll have to tune into Raw next Monday to see what’s next for him now that he’s the man who made John Cena finally give up.
Does GUNTHER’s logic about John Cena having a great end to his career make sense to you? Do you think the boos will be just as loud when GUNTHER steps in the ring on Raw next week?
