The Miami Dolphins are expected to have a rough 2026 season as they reset their salary cap, roster, coaching staff, and front office in one year. Predictions for Miami range from 4 wins this year to not coming away with a single victory. It might be a tough year to be a Dolphins fan.
The latestFanDuel Sportsbook odds have the Dolphins’ win total between 3.5 wins (-135 over/+115 under) and 4.5 wins (+140 / -165).
The fans seem to understand the current situation, and the hope it may bring for the future.
While the team and new head coach Jeff Hafley will look for wins, this season may be more about 2027 and beyond. Root for wins now, but understand the importance of resetting the team and the growing pains that will come from it.
Dolphins fan confidence
According to our SB Nation Reacts poll, fan confidence in the team has held steady from the start of the preseason to the start of the regular season. Just before the team faced the New Yok Giants as part of the preparations for the regular season, we asked how fans feel about the direction of the team. The results had 80 percent of the fans thinking Miami was headed in the right direction.
Fast forward to just over a month later and with the regular season opening against the Las Vegas Raiders looming, we asked the same question and received almost identical results. Our first confidence poll of the 2026 season came back with 79 percent of the fans thinking Miami is headed in the right direction.

AFC East fan confidence review
As we reach the start of the season, it is time to also take a look around the AFC East to get an idea of how the fans of the Dolphins’ division rivals are viewing their team.
The Buffalo Bills, who are the favorites to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, have an 85 percent positive fan rating.
The New England Patriots, coming off a Super Bowl appearance last year, received a positive vote from 96 percent of their fans. The Patriots have already fallen to 0-1, losing to the Seattle Seahawks in a Super Bowl rematch to open the 2026 season on Wednesday. Will that impact their fan confidence heading into next week?
The New York Jets, who finished last season with a 3-14 record and were in last place in the AFC East, have 63 percent of their fans thinking the team is headed in the right direction.
Just as a note, the range of fan confidence polls from across the league ranges from 98 percent of the fans of the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks, believing the team is headed in the right direction, to an even 50/50 split among Indianapolis Colts fans thinking they are headed in the right direction this year.
