Good morning, Chargers fans!
Per NFL insider Mike Garafolo on Monday, the Chargers are signing former Jaguars tight end Patrick Herbert to the practice squad.
And yes, that is the younger brother of Justin Herbert.
Just by listening to Patrick speak about football, you can tell he is a good fit with a Jim Harbaugh-led team. He prefers a big block over a big catch, something he told reporters during his final season at Oregon.
Herbert’s only competition on the practice squad at tight end is Evan Svoboda who only played one season at the position in college. If Herbert can show he’s a difference-maker as a blocker, I don’t see why he couldn’t be TE4 on this team by the end of the year.
And now for today’s links.
