Following a game against the Indiana Pacers that can only be described as tense, the Milwaukee Bucks will travel to Canada again to take on the Raptors. The city of Toronto hopes that the home team can help them heal after a devastating Game 7 loss in the World Series. These two teams played in Toronto not even two weeks ago on October 24th, with the Bucks winning 122-116.
Where We’re At
The Bucks have gotten off to a solid start to the season, logging impressive wins against the New York Knicks and Golden State
Warriors. Milwaukee’s offense has been high-powered, led by Giannis and a barrage of three-point shooting, while the defense has seen a bump thanks to the presence of Ryan Rollins and Myles Turner. The offense still experiences moments of stagnation, and the defense occasionally struggles with higher-level perimeter guards and rebounding. However, the Bucks have shown more balance this season, which has led to their positive start.
Since their last meeting, the Raptors have had a rough start. Toronto has suffered losses to the Mavericks, Spurs, and Rockets, but did get a victory on the road against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the opening game of the NBA Cup and a win over the Grizzlies on Sunday. There is a feisty team here with moments of brilliance from Brandon Ingram, Scottie Barnes, and RJ Barrett, but hovering around .500 is a fitting spot for them.
Injury Report
Due to the Bucks playing last night, there isn’t an official injury report as of this morning. We know Kevin Porter Jr. will be out following his knee injury, but it wouldn’t be surprising if we saw some players sit out this game. For Toronto, Jakob Poeltl is listed as questionable as they manage his back injury.
Player To Watch
Quietly, Kyle Kuzma has been ok this season. Last week, he had a strong defensive showing against KAT and the New York Knicks, and on Saturday against the Kings, he scored 16 points in the 4th quarter. He might be able to take advantage of the Raptors’ bench, and if Giannis doesn’t play, he will move to the starting lineup.
