Football:
If FSU is able to run the ball vs. Pittsburgh this weekend I will feel very confident about the rest of the season because Pittsburgh’s run defense allows only 1.72 yards per carry; number one in the country.
Mike Norvell is 20-22 in ACC competition and outside of 2023 there has always been at least one three-game losing streak in each season. A win at home against Pittsburgh would be a positive sign of turning the tide from mediocrity:
Mike Norvell is confident that if FSU cleans up its self-inflicted mistakes they can achieve anything they want.
“You come back and you watch the film, you see the opportunities and things that we’ve got to clean up,” he said. “At this point we’ve lost two games. We have six turnovers in those two games, things we’ve shown high capability of production, and we’ve shown a lot of potential of what we can do. But it still comes down to applying that throughout the course of a game….Now it’s about applying those corrections — players, coaches, everybody involved — to put ourselves in position to go and get a victory this week.”
FSU has lost defensive back Quindarrius Jones to a season-ending injury. One of the four blue-chip defensive backs FSU signed in 2024 is going to have an opportunity for serious playing time going forward.
Heather Dinich is not counting out Florida State despite the 0-2 start in conference play.
Recruiting:
FSU flipped three-star TE Corbyn Fordham from Ohio State over the weekend; three-star OT Aaron Thomas, also committed to Ohio State could be next.
FSU is picking up momentum with a pair of high-upside three-star in-state edges in Jaemin Pickney and Kamron Wilson.
