Good morning, baseball fans!
The San Francisco Giants have embarked upon their final month of the season. As I remarked yesterday, I still can’t believe it. This year is simultaneously crawling and flying by.
Throughout the season, I’ve been checking in every few weeks to see how Giants fans are feeling about the season so far, and where the team is at. This is most likely the last chance we’ll get to do that this year, so let’s hear it.
Personally, I’m feeling a lot better about this team right now
than I was a couple of weeks ago. I’m not going to go so far as to say they’re still in it, because I don’t think that they are. I think their summer slump will end up being insurmountable. But stranger things have happened. Occasionally.
They are currently fifth in the race for a Wild Card spot, but six games out (as of the time this is being written on Friday). That’s not terrible. I mean, it’s not great, but it’s not the bottom of the pack at least.
And we don’t have to talk about the 11 games that they are currently trailing by in their division (again, as of the time this is being written). Honestly, the NL West might as well be a lost cause for the next decade at this point.
All of that said, I’m feeling a bit more optimistic about this team in the near future than I have been for several weeks. Funny how a string of wins can do that after a nasty string of losses.
How are you feeling about the Giants season thus far?
