Before we fully turn the page from the Baltimore’s Week 2 loss to the New Orleans Saints, let’s grab any positive takeaways from Sunday’s game and take them into Week 3.
Nikhil’s take: It is extremely frustrating when the Ravens lose a game they should have won, but at least they should have won it in the first place, right? Baltimore had a significantly higher offensive success rate than New Orleans with a handful of third and fourth downs holding them back in the second half.
The Ravens also averaged more yards per play (5.6 to 4.7) with double the Saints’ rushing efficiency (4.9 yards per carry to 2.4). Declan Doyle’s new offense will still have its hiccups, but it can still consistently move the ball and put Baltimore in position to score points. Late-down and red-zone execution will be the difference between this team blowing out their opponents or not, but the Ravens offense should still be able to keep them in every game.
