The Baltimore Ravens are trading outside linebacker Odafe Oweh to the Los Angeles Chargers, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The Ravens will get veteran safety Alohi Gilman back in the deal, which also included a swap of Day 3 draft picks. Here are the full details, courtesy of ESPN’s Adam Schefter:
Oweh appeared in all five of the Ravens’ games this
year with a 45% snap share, but his role appeared to be decreasing. With Kyle Van Noy back in the mix in Week 5, Oweh’s snap count dropped to 26, his ninth-lowest workload in his career and his fourth-lowest in the last three years. He only recorded 10 tackles, one tackle for loss, and most disappointingly, zero sacks to start the season, so the Ravens decided to move on to younger edge defenders like Mike Green and Tavius Robinson. In the immediate future, David Ojabo will also see an uptick in snaps; 2024 third-rounder Adisa Isaac could also be nearing a return from his dislocated elbow.
