Barcelona’s El Clasico preparations have been disrupted by news that Frenkie de Jong missed training on Thursday as he was feeling unwell.
According to Diario Sport, the Dutchman arrived at the Ciutat Esportiva
but went home early as he was in no condition to train.
The news will be a concern to Hansi Flick just days away from the trip to the Santiago Bernabeu, particularly as he’s already without Joan Garcia, Robert Lewandowski, Gavi and Dani Olmo for the game.
It’s not clear if De Jong will recover in time but he’s not the only player to be under the weather at Barcelona right now.
Andreas Christensen missed training on Monday due to illness and was then left out of the squad for the win over Olympiacos.
However, Denmark international was back in the training ground on Thursday and could be included in the squad for Sunday’s match.
