The first half pretty much proceeded as expected. It’s another half of disappointments for the Wilsons as Archie has still yet to punt for them. Again, it’s because the Huskers offense scored on every drive, save the one which ran out the clock at halftime.
And this time the Blackshirts got in on the fun when Riley Van Poppel nailed HCU quarterback Jake Wie for a 12-yard sack and dislodged the ball, at which time DE Williams Nwaneri snatched for the 29-yard scoop and score. The offense did their thing
as well outgaining the Huskies 320 – 52 in total yards. Dylan Raiola, Emmett Johnson and Dane Key led the way in the stats book.
Raiola was 15-21 for 222 yards and a pair of TD’s. Johnson carried 13 times for 78 yards and a pair of scores. And Key hauled in 4 passes for 104 yards and a sixer of his own.
The Huskers defense stifled Houston Christian with the entire cast getting on the fun. Andrew Marshall and Donovan Jones led the tackle parade with 5 and 4 respectively.
Huskers 38 HCU 0. Enjoy the second half and stay cool my friends!
