One game, then, to decide the 2025 World Series championship. It’s the first Game 7 since 2019, when the Nationals defeated the Astros in Houston to win the WS. That Series was unique — it’s the only one where the visiting team won every game.
That won’t be the case here, of course. Game 6 looked like it might go the Blue Jays’ way when they had runners on second and third with nobody out in the bottom of the ninth, but the Dodgers ended the game on a popup and fantastically-executed double play by
Enrique Hernandez and Miguel Rojas.
Winner-take-all in Game 7 is always fun. Here’s for some more good baseball tonight.
Blue Jays at Dodgers, 7 p.m. CT
Shohei Ohtani, RHP vs. Max Scherzer, RHP
Well now, there’s a pitching matchup. Ohtani is going on three days rest and who knows whether that’s as an opener, for a couple of innings or maybe longer. It’s entirely possible this could be Scherzer’s last MLB game. Oh, and he was the starting pitcher for the Nats in Game 7 in 2019.
Enough drama for you?
