Alejandro Balde says he’s aware there’s talk he could leave the club this summer but insists he is concentrating solely on his football ahead of the new campaign.
The left-back’s form last season led to speculation he could be offloaded before the start of the new campaign, but he told TV3 after the Joan Gamper Trophy win that he’s feeling good.
“The team is in good shape, it’s been a different pre-season because the World Cup players have come back afterwards. The team is fine, physically, very well,”
he said.
“I’m a very quiet guy. I know there’s a lot of talk, but I think I’m doing things right. I don’t look at the press, but it’s inevitable that it will come. I think I have to focus on myself and my work and things come.”
Barcelona are set to confirm Joao Cancelo has returned to the club for a third spell this week, with the Portugal international hoping to start the season as Hansi Flick’s first choice at left-back ahead of Balde.
