Givairo Read seemed destined for a move to Bayern Munich a few years ago, but the transfer reportedly fell apart due to major concerns about his fitness.
A new report states that the club passed on signing the Dutchman the first time because there was not enough space for him in the squad when they initially tried to bring him in:
Givairo Read is still a highly rated player by Bayern’s management. The club didn’t make a move for him in the summer, not because he they were not convinced, but because they didn’t manage to offload Sacha Boey. For the future, they still like this Dutchman, and if they can move Boey on to another club, then there would be an idea to get Read – though there’s competition from several Premier League clubs [@BILD, @cfbayern]
The right-back position remains the last key area the Rekordmeister can strengthen before their squad is complete.
