Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has been promised €110 million in transfer funds by presidential candidate Marc Ciria.
The club’s financial situation has been well-documented and means Flick has not been able to strengthen the squad as he would have liked during his time at Camp Nou.
Yet Ciria claims that if he is elected president, he will be able to hand Flick a very healthy transfer budet.
“By applying the digital solution and applying the financial restructuring solution, I will have 110 million euros
of free cash to make available to the technical secretariat in the summer,” he said, via Sport.
“By the way, an independent sports general directorate. To Mr. Flick I will say, here you have your financial ‘fair play’, let’s go for that player who can complete a generation of youngsters that will give us the next Champions League.
“Yes, in the summer we will have a financial profile and free cash.”
Ciria also couldn’t resist talking about Lionel Messi again. He’s already said the GOAT must come back and has now said his exit was the biggest mistake in the club’s history.
“The most important strategic mistake in Barça’s history was to let Leo Messi go, and not only because of what he meant on the pitch and on a sporting level, but also because of what he meant on a commercial level and global image,” he added.
“So much so that Messi has more fans in the world than Barça, and so much so that Messi playing in a minor league is the player who continues to sell the most shirts in the world.”
Let’s just say for a second that Flick does have €110 million to spend this summer – who should he buy?
