Real, United, Barca contemplating run at Davies (Fußball News)
Bayern Munich made a long-term financial commitment to Alphonso Davies in early 2025, but a series of injuries put at least some doubt on the Canadian’s future.
After some up-and-down play in between injuries during the 2025/26 season, Davies has been terrific in this campaign — which makes it all the more wild that his name would be linked to Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and Manchester United:
FC Bayern could face a surprising personnel decision in the upcoming transfer window. Alphonso Davies remains
highly sought after by several top European clubs. According to information from fussball-news.de, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and Manchester United are among those seriously interested in the Canadian international.
Real Madrid, in particular, has been following the 25-year-old’s development for several years. Even after his contract extension with Bayern Munich, Los Blancos have apparently not completely abandoned their interest. Barcelona, in turn, are monitoring Davies as a potential reinforcement for their left-back position.
Manchester United are currently showing the most concrete interest from the Premier League. Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City also have the left-back on their radar. The English clubs are continuing to gather information about his development and potential transfer terms.
However, no concrete transfer negotiations have yet begun. According to information from fussball-news.de, FC Bayern has received no official offers, nor are direct negotiations taking place with interested clubs. Contacts are currently limited to scouting and initial inquiries through intermediaries.
Nevertheless, Bayern Munich’s stance on a potential sale may have changed. Davies had only recently extended his contract at the beginning of 2025, running until June 30, 2030. At that time, the Canadian was considered an important part of their long-term squad planning.
The club’s management is now reportedly more open to a potential departure. This is due, in part, to Davies’ injury history and the development of other players in the squad.
According to this report, Bayern Munich might be willing to enter into serious talks as soon as a concrete offer of around €50 million is received. The other conditions surrounding a potential transfer would also be crucial.
A swift departure from Munich is not currently on the cards. Due to his long-term contract, FC Bayern already holds a comfortable negotiating position. However, should one of the numerous interested parties actually submit an offer in the range of 50 to 65 million euros, the Davies transfer saga could gain significant momentum in the coming months.
Sure, bringing in Nathaniel Brown as a contingency plan was a big swing for Bayern Munich, but it could have inadvertently (or maybe even purposely) lit a spark in Davies. Even with that luxury at left-back, it remains extremely doubtful that the Bavarians would consider a sale of Davies at this point.
When the Canadian is at his best, he is a top player at left-back in the world — and Bayern Munich is not in the business of getting rid of players like that.
Koundé could be getting interest from Chelsea (ESPN)
FC Barcelona right-back Jules Koundé has been off-and-on Bayern Munich’s radar for a couple of years now, but Chelsea could be ready to make a swoop in for the 27-year-old:
Chelsea are showing an interest in Barcelona defender Jules Koundé, according to Sport. The France international started only his second LaLiga match of the season on Saturday’s against Getafe, scoring his team’s final goal in the 3-0 win. Koundé is also attracting interest from other Premier League clubs, with the Blaugrana open to a transfer after considering moving him on in the summer.
Top clubs monitoring Haaland situation (Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke)
Clearly, the sharks are starting to smell blood in the water when it comes to Manchester City and the likes of Arsenal, FC Barcelona, and Real Madrid are all eager to see if they can pry the star Norwegian away from City:
Arsenal are one of the many top European sides keeping tabs on Erling Haaland’s situation at Manchester City, sources have told Football Insider. The future of the Norwegian is up in the air following Man City’s guilty verdict on 114 charges of breaking Premier League rules.
As I shared on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Arsenal could provide a route to keep the forward in the Premier League. With the latest on the race for Haaland being shared amid interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid as well.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I revealed: “We have to wait and see what happens with Manchester City. Obviously, Haaland’s under a long-term contract; he signed that new deal not too long ago to keep at Man City for the foreseeable future.
“Man City are planning to keep Erling Haaland, they don’t want to lose him but there’s always been interest from the big Spanish duo in Erling Haaland.
“Barcelona especially have held a dream of bringing Haaland to the Camp Nou; Real Madrid, I’m sure, would be interested if he became available as well, and then you’ve mentioned there, Arsenal are also keeping tabs on the situation.
“I wouldn’t say there’s a clear front runner; if for whatever reason Haaland does become available with everything that’s going on at Manchester City, and if there’s a potential exit out of the club, I think it’ll be a pretty crowded race for Haaland’s signature because he is their most prized asset.”
Real eyeing McTominay? (ESPN)
Real Madrid could be taking a peek at Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay:
Real Madrid have contacted Scott McTominay’s representatives amid stalled contract talks with Napoli, according to Tuttomercatoweb. The Scotland midfielder could also attract approaches from Premier League clubs if an agreement remains elusive. Napoli may nevertheless block a January departure, keeping their star player for the remainder of the season while allowing themselves more time to negotiate an extension. As a result, any potential transfer is likely to be pushed back until next summer.
Schick on fire for Leverkusen (OptaFranz)
Patrik Schick is lighting it up for Bayer Leverkusen as he has scored in all five Bundesliga games this season:
5 – Patrik Schick became the third Leverkusen player after Dimitar Berbatov in 2005/06 and Stefan Kießling in 2009/10 to score on each of the first five matchdays of a Bundesliga season.
Machine.
Mavropanos on the move? (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)
West Ham center-back Konstantinos Mavropanos did really well for himself playing for Greece in the last international break and is now getting some interest per this report:
🚨👀 Konstantinos Mavropanos, one to watch for the next two transfer windows.
The 28 y/o Greek top defender is attracting significant interest and has joined ROOF as his new agency.
Contract at West Ham until 2028. A key player for the club, but no contract extension currently planned. #WHUFC
@SkySportDE
Mavropanos is a tough, strong, yet speedy defender. Just the kind of player a lot of big clubs would like to get their hands on.
