Gavi’s agent Ivan de la Pena has insisted the midfielder is not thinking about leaving Barcelona amid talk of interest in the Spain star from Serie A club Napoli.
There’s been speculation in Italy that Napoli are thinking about going for Gavi in the January transfer window to boost their squad.
However, Diario Sport report that an exit is simply not on the agenda for Gavi. His agent is quoted as saying: “I have not negotiated with anyone. Gavi is staying.”
Speculation has arisen as Gavi is finding game
time hard to come by at Barcelona in 2026-27. His substitute appearance against Aston Villa in midweek was just his eighth outing of the season.
Gavi’s only made two starts for Barcelona in that time, playing a total of 146 minutes, due to the intense competition for places. He vying for a spot in midfield alongside Pedri, Rodri, Frenkie de Jong, Marc Bernal, Dani Olmo and Fermin Lopez.
Injury to Rodri means there may be more chances of game time for Gavi in the coming weeks and the chance for the 22-year-old to stake a claim for a bigger role this season.
