For the third straight week, Sunday football starts off a little bit early. The NFL’s International Series continues in Week 6 with a matchup that… well, this one may not be so fun to watch.
It’s a battle
between a Dan Campbell protege vs. a Dan Campbell mentor.
Campbell’s mentor, Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton, has his team in competitor mode. Though the Broncos are just 3-2 through five games, they’re coming off an impressive win over the Eagles, and they were just barely edged out by the Colts and Chargers early in the season. Denver’s defense is particularly impressive, holding teams to 23 points or fewer in four of five matchups this season.
It hasn’t been such smooth sailing for Campbell’s protege. Former Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn is facing a very uphill climb in his first year as the New York Jets head coach. While the Jets looked competitive and feisty in their opening season loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, it has been downhill since for the winless Jets. Last week’s pummeling at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys has already got some in the Jets media and fandom getting uneasy about Glenn’s future in New York.
But it’s a week-to-week league. You’re only as good as your last game, and it’s certainly possible the Jets shock the Broncos in London this week. So if you want to watch and comment on the game, just stick right here for the 9:30 a.m. ET kickoff and scroll down to the comment section to share your thoughts.
Note: We will have a separate live chat that combines both the 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. ET games, as we await the Detroit Lions’ “Sunday Night Football” game.
