The second game of the three-game series between the Athletics and division rival Texas Rangers will take place tonight at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento. The A’s dropped the opener 5-2 but hope to bounce back tonight. The Athletics trail the Rangers by six games in the American League West standings. Getting the start tonight for the A’s is 24-year-old right-hander Mason Barnett. This will be Barnett major league debut. He’ll go up against veteran righty Merrill Kelly. Kelly is 10-7 with
a 3.20 ERA in 27 starts.
