Joao Cancelo has reportedly urged Barcelona to make up their minds about a possible January transfer as he seeks to find a new club this winter.
Barcelona and Inter have both been linked with the full back, with Nerazzurri chief Beppe Marotta having revealed his club have been in talks but that the defender’s salary is an issue.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Cancelo is still waiting for Barca to make up their minds and that Inter remain in the race to land the Portugal star.
Diario Sport also have an update and say that Cancelo “has asked Barça for guarantees that the signing will be viable and expects an immediate response from the Blaugrana club.”
The full-back is eager to come back to Catalunya for a second spell, but it’s thought that Barcelona aren’t quite convinced about the move.
Hansi Flick’s focus for January has been on bringing in a center-back, to replace the injured Andreas Christensen, but signing Cancelo could see Jules Kounde move back into the heart of the defence.
Al-Hilal are thought to be willing to pay part of Cancelo’s move to help facilitate a loan exit, but it’s still not clear if Barcelona will give the move the green light.
