Aston Villa right-back Matty Cash sounds like he is ready for the squad’s summer tour to come to an end, but also seems to be eager to square off with Bayern Munich.
The match will act as a measuring stick for Aston Villa to gauge its progress heading into the regular season.
“It will be a tough challenge. They’re probably one of the best teams in the world at the minute, so it’s a great test for us,” Cash told Aston Villa’s website. “It’ll be really good; it’s another strong opponent. We’re looking
forward to it and hopefully it will set us up nicely going into the PSG game.”
Cash also reflected on the team’s entire preseason tour, which has been a grind with regard to the heat and travel, but fulfilling otherwise.
“It’s been really good, really hot, and everywhere we’ve been has been tough conditions but really enjoyable, experiencing different cultures in Jakarta, Bangkok and now Hong Kong. It’s been really good and hopefully we can finish it off with a nice game tomorrow,” Cash said. “We’re spending a lot of time together, eating every meal together. We’ve not had a lot of free time because we’ve been travelling and training. We’ve been team bonding because we’ve had a lot of changes this year, with players going and new players coming in. It’s good to see them settle in and we’re looking forward to another strong season.”
