Barcelona are being linked with a shock move for Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush as a possible alternative to Julian Alvarez this summer.
According to Diario Sport, Barcelona are searching for other options at it’s seen as being extremely difficult to bring in the Atletico star.
Marmoush’s name has apparently now cropped up and he is seen as a player who would “fit perfectly into Hansi Flick’s system” at Barcelona.
The feeling is that Marmoush fits the profile Barcelona are looking for as he is “a
mobile, technically gifted, link-up playmaker with a knack for scoring goals” and can play across the front three.
The report says that Barcelona have followed him previously, before he signed for Manchester City, and could now reignite their interest.
There’s also a feeling that he could be available this summer and that Pep Guardiola’s side would be willing to let him move on.
City splashed out around €75 million to sign him from Eintracht Frankfurt. Sport say that Barca think he could be signed for much less and that they could afford such a deal if Robert Lewandowski departs.
