In their now annual reveal, the NFLPA listed the top 50 sales earners among players in the National Football League from (roughly) the 2025 NFL season.
As the reigning AP Offensive Player of the Year, Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the first Seattle Seahawks player since Russell Wilson to crack the top 5.
As noted above, this is a comprehensive ranking of sales from player jerseys, merchandise and memorabilia. An unfettered view on player popularity during the previous season.
Some of the NFLPA licensees include Fanatics, Outerstuff, Fathead, FOCO and Funko.
According to the NFLPA, “during the reporting period, officially licensed NFL player merchandise generated more than $1.9 billion in retail sales.” American football is an ever-growing sport in global popularity. Josh Allen was the top in sales, as well as being the “top international jersey seller.”
Notice that seven of the top 10 are NFC players (although the top two are both AFC East). Another seven of the top 10 are quarterbacks, which makes JSN’s meteoric rise that much more impressive.
This is the first time on the top 50 list for Jaxon Smith-Njigba, as he rose more than 50 spots behind “one of the year’s biggest retail surges” to become the No. 4 ranked merchandise earner. He also earned himself a nice contract extension.
Smith-Njigba put up 1,793 yards en route to leading the league as a receiving threat and helping the Seattle Seahawks to capture a championship trophy. Super Bowl 60 opponent, Drake Maye, “surged 30 spots from last year and led all players in postseason jersey sales.”
JSN was also the highest-charting WR on the list (Justin Jefferson checked in at 13th overall) and one of just 3 at the position who breach the top 20 (Amon-Ra St. brown sits at 17, rival wideout Puka Nacua comes in at 24).
The next Seahawks to appear on the list are Cooper Kupp at 41 and Sam Darnold squeaking in at 49. Former Seahawk and current Steeler, DK Metcalf finished slightly below Kupp, earning the 43rd spot in player sales.
The lone Seattle Seahawks player to have reached top 5 status in NFLPA player sales previously was former starting QB, Russell Wilson (who did so on multiple occasions and finished in the #1 spot in 2015).
The “Emerald City Route Artist” authored a magical season wrapped up in a championship run and will be beloved forever by Seahawks fans worldwide… we just have the data to back that up now.
