Aleksander Pavlović has emerged as one of the best midfielders in the world this season under Vincent Kompany. While Pavlović first broke onto the global scene years ago, this season truly marks his emergence as one of the world’s best as unfortunately for Germany and Bayern Munich, Pavlović significantly struggled with illness and knocks throughout his first couple seasons for club and country.
That has changed now as Pavlović has truly became a world beater this season and with consistent playtime
it has become clear that he is able to decide matches with his performance. When asked about this ability, Pavlović was his humble self and played it cool.
“You never know, maybe I’ll score a goal in a Champions League final one day, something like that increases the chances of the fans perhaps counting you among them one day (laughs). But joking aside: Of course, individual moments often decide games – and in our squad, anyone can make the difference. I’m just trying to do my bit to reach the Champions League final at some point. And then we’ll see,” Pavlović told the club’s magazine #Säbener51 as captured via @iMiaSanMia.
Pavlović is surely showing his PR training with a brilliant response deflecting the question and instead focusing on the strength of the overall team. It is no wonder why he has quickly become a fan favorite in Munich. One interesting component of this is how often Pavlović makes mention of the Champions League in these responses. Despite the World Cup on the radar, it is clear the German midfielder has his eyes on one prize in particular, European glory.
