The Südkurve is a grand part of the Allianz Arena experience when watching Bayern Munich take on its opponents.
However, during Bayern Munich’s 3-1 victory over Sporting CP in the Champions League, club CEO Jan-Christian thinks that the fans in the Südkurve went too far with their pyro show.
“First of all I think it’s not good for nature. When you see the smoke, I was worried that the game would be interrupted. It’s simply unacceptable. There will certainly be a sanction from UEFA, there will be a part
ban of fans in the Südkurve,” Dreesen said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
The smoke was distracting to television viewers, but it is hard to gauge just how much it had an effect on the players.
As far as Dreesen’s comments go, you know the Südkurve fans will have a response.
They always do.
