A trade! A trade with Kansas City!
If you were here expecting a bigger deadline deal with the Royals, I have some bad news for you. Misner is likely no more than better organizational depth than what Steward Berroa was. Once a compensation pick for the Marlins, Misner is now floating in between the majors and minors with regularity.
That
said, in Omaha, Misner put up a solid .289/.378/.563 line with 14 home runs, 54 RBI and 14 stolen bases. He’s walking at a solid rate, even if his strike out rate is kind of high in the minors. No matter, the team is likely bringing him aboard so that if something happens to a major league outfielder, what they would be bringing up in Misner is better than anything else they have to promote.
The 40-man roster is still full after this trade.
