The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially named their team captains for the 2025 NFL season, and four players will hold that honor – one of whom is first-year Steeler Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers is serving as the team’s offensive captain, the team announced on Monday. Along with Rodgers, Cam Heyward and T.J. Watt will serve as defensive captains, and special teams ace Miles Killebrew is the captain of the special teams unit.
Rodgers is the oldest starting quarterback in the NFL this season and is leading a very young Steelers offense. Clearly, though, this unit has a ton of respect for their quarterback and will look at him to lead the offense into what they hope will be a long run into January.
In terms of the other captains, this marks the 11th straight season that Heyward has been a team captain, which is fewer than only Ben Roethlisberger in Steelers history. This is Watt’s fifth season as a captain and Killebrew’s fourth.
