I have to run out, but wanted to get something up quick:
Everything on Twitter this morning is about Trey Yesavage (and yeah, it should be, but say a few words for Fisher too, he only did what he had to do)
But let’s mention that Brian Roberts (sort of) apologized.
“I do want to apologize to Toronto fans for something I said on the air the other day,” Roberts said. “I definitely never, ever meant to cause anyone to feel like I was disrespecting them at all. I have always enjoyed coming to Toronto, I’ve
always enjoyed playing here… I hope they will accept my sincere apology for what I said on air here the other day.”.
He never says ‘I was wrong’, ‘I was disrespectful’, ‘Every Stadium in the MLB does the same thing’. None of that. The line ‘I definitely never, ever meant to cause anyone to feel like I was disrespecting them’, has the feel of ‘you guys misunderstood’. But we didn’t, we understood.
Let me fix it for you: “I said idiotic and insulting things about Canadian baseball fans, and I apologize.”
The original:
The apology:
Yesterday’s Umpire Scorecard. The missed call that bothered me the most cost Trey an immaculate inning.

Here is Trey’s immaculate inning:
Nothing moved glove side. That’s amazing.
Sorry to hear about Robert Redford. The Natural was one of those baseball movies I liked. But he was good in many movies.
