Now that the Houston Texans schedule for 2026 is officially out, and the rumors are either validated or swept away, it’s time to think about the home games.
Houston Texans Schedule – Week 1
Your Houston Texans open up home field advantage in what many believe could be an AFC Championship Game preview, against the Buffalo Bills. While the Bills await the completion of their new stadium – slated for opening this season – they get to start off in one that’s not been kind to them in recent history. Their last visit to NRG saw them lose
to the good guys, 19-23.
Houston Texans Schedule – Week 4
Week 4 sees a cross-state rivalry that started the Texans playing days back in 2002. The Dallas Cowboys, already eliminated from post-season contention (/s), travel down to Houston to see what real Texas life is like. Jerry Jones will probably be on-sight crowing about how great he and his team are, which will be hard to explain after Houston whoops ’em.
Houston Texans Schedule – Week 11
The Indianapolis Colts come to town in week 11 for a rematch of the week 3 game at Indy. While a lot of pundits seem to think the Baby Horses will dominate in 2026, their roster and coaching staff still smell too much like “rebuild” to be a serious threat to the AFC South Crown just yet.
Houston Texans Schedule – Week 12
Last season’s matchup against the multi- Super Bowl winning Baltimore Ravens was a highlight of the year. The 44-10 shellacking Houston put on Baltimore certainly seemed like a snapshot of what the 2025 Texans were capable of when the offense and defense worked at the same level.
Without Lamar Jackson, Baltimore’s offense never really got going as backup Cooper Rush threw 3 picks, 2 to Kamari Lassiter and 1 to Jalen Pitre. Derrick “Texans killer” Henry was once again shut down by the DeMeco Ryans’ Defense and only contributed 33 yards.
If the Texans can duplicate this level of play once again, with Lamar Jackson on the field, they’ll put the world on notice.
Houston Texans Schedule – Week 15
This game has all the markings of a division championship matchup. The final regular season meeting of the 2 teams expected to vie for the AFC South crown in 2026. The Jacksonville Jaguars have a lot going their way these days. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence finally seems to have hit his stride as a pro baller. Can he show what he’s made of against the best secondary in the NFL? Don’t hold your breath.
With other home games against the Cincinnati Bengals (week 2), New York Giants (week 7) and a flew game against the Not-The-Oilers to end the season, this should shake out as a very exciting slate of home games.
If you could pick just one to attend, which would it be and why?
