Real Madrid attacker Franco Mastantuono talked to Cadena SER in an interview where he shared some insight on his injury and his first few months as a madridista.
“It was a kind of pain that I had been experiencing
for some time. It was time to stop and recover properly in order to be at 100%. This club demands it. I will be back playing soon. It started in the second match of the Club World Cup with River and it kept bothering me more and more until I had to stop because of the pain,” he said.
The young attacker also revealed his best friends inside the dressing room.
“I met a group of incredible people who make the day very nice for everyone. In such a big club, having days like this is very nice. I have a very good relationship with Brahim, Valverde, Huijsen, Carreras… I think the locker room is very good, there is very good energy inside and that makes it much better. They are incredible people as well as amazing players to play for Real Madrid,” he explained.
Mastantuono was asked about Bellingham and what makes his teammate great.
“Bellingham is an incredible player. Because of the personality he has, his presence on the field, his technique… He is a player who, in addition to his technique and talent, covers a lot of ground, and that helps the team a lot. He is also a great person, one of the people I get along very well with, and I have a good bond with him, it makes me very happy to be his teammate,” he added.
Naturally, he also talked about Mbappé.
“He is in incredible form, he helps us a lot. He is a natural goal scorer. Hopefully we can help him a lot to be that star he already is, but will continue to be for many years and hopefully here at Real Madrid. He has the goal in his sights and every time he approaches to shoot at the goal you know something is going to happen. That gives the team a lot of confidence, knowing that something good will happen when he has the ball near the area. For us, it is very important to have him,” said Mastantuono.
