Karim Adeyemi is back in the Germany squad following his move to Barcelona
and featured in the 1-1 draw with the Netherlands last time out.New manager Jurgen Klopp has been quizzed on the Barcelona star ahead of Germany’s next match and had a little bit of a joke at Adeyemi’s expense but was then quick to shower him with praise.
Asked about Adeyemi wasting a good opportunity against the Dutch, Klopp said with a laugh: “I was just about to ask which miss?” He quickly added: “He would have put that
away normally, even if the ball bounced and was played sharply
“Dealing with that is the biggest challenge in a footballer’s life, but we’re working on it. He had many really good moments.”
Klopp went on to speak about Adeyemi a little bit more and made his affection for the Barcelona star clear.
“He’s a wonderful guy and a very pleasant person. I really like the whole package he offers. I know few people who can choose whether to take the ball with their left or right foot when they’re running. And he has incredible speed,” he added.
“Karim offers so much. Can he play better? Yes! But he could have been much worse. Onwards and upwards!”
Germany’s next game is against Greece in the Nations League on Sunday night.
