Bayern Munich have been on a bit of a rough start to 2026. After coming out of the gates hot, with some massive offensive performances, the team has been struggling as of late. No one is more happy seeing Bayern slip with than Borussia Dortmund. Dortmund star, German international, and possible Bayern transfer target Nico Schlotterbeck even stated that Dortmund should be aiming for the title.
“I think it’s great when there are teams in the league that try to be successful. We will continue on our
path. We know where we want to go – where we want to finish. Nevertheless, it’s nice that there are teams that have this ambition,” Tah told @SkySportDE’s Kerry Hau, as captured via @iMiaSanMia.
It is not exactly surprising to hear that a rival team wants to steal away Bayern’s title, or any team for that manner. While Dortmund have been the butt of a joke that they consistently choke each year, they are quietly sneaking up upon Bayern in the Bundesliga title race at the moment.
Schlotterbeck was well within his rights to say that and Tah clear commends him for this comments. Will Dortmund actually win? That is a whole other matter, but the clash between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich in Der Klassiker later this month will surely play a big factor.
