The Portland Fire (11-18) will look to snap their four-game losing streak at home this afternoon at 12:30pm Pacific against the Los Angeles Sparks (10-17).
The big news from the Sparks is that they’ve traded their five-time All-Star Kelsey Plum to the Phoenix Mercury for Monique Makani, a 2027 first round pick, and a 2028 second round pick. Los Angeles is on a six-game losing streak of their own, so this is a prime opportunity for Portland to pick up a much-needed win.
The Fire are now two spots out
of the final playoff spot in 10th place, 5 and a half games behind the New York Liberty for the final spot. Today is a must-win if they have any chance of making a second-half run to the playoffs.
