Did Eberl give a hint on Gordon? (Bild @iMiaSanMia)
Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl appears to have given a nice, little Easter Egg for fans in an interview with Bild:
In a conversation with @BILD, Max Eberl hinted at Anthony Gordon without actually mentioning the name: “We’re in agreement that we will sign an attacking player if he can be financed.”
When asked if the player wants to join FC Bayern, Eberl said: “We had a very good conversation and we hope that we can make progress.”
Eberl…you sly dog. Eberl seems like he is being very
cheeky about the reports that have been circulating for a couple of months now, but it is not being a Bayern Munich to throw a red herring out there either.
It does feel like Bayern Munich is very serious about the Newcastle United star and if there is a way to get the deal done in a good way for both sides, it feels like it will happen. If not, the Bavarians will likely just move on to option two.
LFC eyeing Leipzig’s Diomande, Nusa (ESPN)
Liverpool might like to double dip at RB Leipzig by getting Yan Diomande and Antonio Nusa:
RB Leipzig duo Yan Diomande and Antonio Nusa are summer targets for Liverpool, according to iNews. The Reds are keen to recruit in wide areas ahead of next season, with Mohamed Salah leaving the club, but would be looking at parting with around €150 million for the pair. Another name on their shortlist is Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola, who has also been heavily linked with Arsenal in recent weeks. British-record transfer Alexander Isak, meanwhile, is expected to remain at Anfield despite failing to hit top form this term.
Allegri eyeing midfield trio of Goretzka, Rabiot, Modrić for next season (Sempre Milan)
AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri is dreaming of a midfield threesome of his current players Luka Modrić and Adrien Rabiot, plus Bayern Munich free-agent-to-be Leon Goretzka:
As La Gazzetta dello Sport report, Goretzka has won his seventh Bundesliga title (in eight seasons) with Bayern Munich and he’s hungry for a breath of fresh air. He has chosen a new adventure, breaking out of a comfort zone that brought trophy after trophy.
Milan have had Leon Goretzka in their sights for a few months and are now trying to accelerate. The player has already had direct contact with Allegri and he likes the idea, but obviously Allegri must secure Champions League qualification first. This is the essential condition.
Allegri has already made it clear to the management several times that he needs to raise the bar in midfield, and with the German he believes he would do that. If everything goes as the coach would like, the starting midfield for 2026-27 would consist of Goretzka, Luka Modric and Adrien Rabiot.
AC Milan would be a very good spot for Goretzka to land.
Vlahović to Milan? (ESPN)
Speaking of AC Milan, the club could also be lobbing over some interest in another free agent — Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović:
AC Milan could move to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic as a free agent if they qualify for the Champions League, according to Calciomercato. Milan are third in Serie A, ahead of Roma on goal difference and two points in front of both Como and Juventus with one game to play. Signing the 26-year-old could still rely on Massimiliano Allegri remaining with the club, but Vlahovic has a clear desire to play Champions League football next season.
Bayern would have to sell Davies to get Gvardiol? (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
According to Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk, those Joško Gvardiol rumors do, indeed, have merit as there is mutual interest.
For Bayern Munich, though, the price to get Gvardiol could be too prohibitive, unless the club sells Alphonso Davies (this almost assuredly will not happen). There are a lot of details to absorb here, so check out what Falk thinks:
There’s another defender in Manchester who could be a little hotter by comparison – and that’s Joško Gvardiol (24). Lothar Matthäus said he heard that Bayern Munich are considering a move for the Croatian. In England, they’ve also broached the subject. Bayern are watching Gvardiol; he’s a very interesting player for them. However, he’s also a very expensive player. Manchester City would price him at €70m-75m [£60.5m-64.8m]. But the interesting thing is that I heard Joško Gvardiol himself would like to return to the Bundesliga. Internally, he believes it would be a dream to play in Germany again. There are many people around him pushing the defender to go to Bayern Munich.
There is a five-year contract on the table for him at Manchester City. So, in the end, I think he’ll decide in favour of the guaranteed money he’ll get at the Etihad. He can’t wait forever for Bayern. Still, there are rumours that Bayern Munich would like to sell Alphonso Davies, and if this occurs, Gvardiol, it’s worth noting, can also play at left-back. So, it would be possible to sign the Croatia international. Otherwise, €70m-75m is too much for Bayern. But I think it’s very interesting that the player himself would like to join Bayern Munich.
As always, the question is…why not both? There comes a time when a club is close — so close — to being dominant in Europe. At these moments, you must either go all-in or hedge your bet. With high-powered options in all positions groups — allegedly — having interest in Bayern Munich, now is the time for the Bavarians to make that call.
United, LFC scoping Camavinga (ESPN)
Eduardo Camavinga reportedly wants to stay at Real Madrid. But if the club does not feel the same, Manchester United and Liverpool would be interested:
Manchester United and Liverpool are both showing strong interest in Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, as per TEAMtalk. The 23-year-old is looking to rebuild his career elsewhere, having been left out of France’s squad for the World Cup. As such, Camavinga’s camp are now actively exploring the market, with a view to a potential transfer this summer, with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur also having a long-standing interest.
