Giants players reveal to The Post what they won’t accept in a new coach | New York Post
New York was never going to scare Jaxson Dart. This is what he is hoping for in the next head coach of the New York Football Giants:
“Obviously a great leader, somebody who can bring people together,” Dart told The Post, “and honestly I think that the coaches I’ve had [ Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss, Brian Daboll and now Mike Kafka this season] in my career so far have been really good at.”
“This isn’t a knock on anyone, I would say like a true leader of men that isn’t gonna
take B.S. from anyone,” said Jermaine Eleumunor. “And isn’t afraid to put people in their place. I’ve never been a fan of the coaches where it’s like, quote-unquote, the players coaches. Make sure the standard is the standard and no one ever drops below that.”

Do the Giants actually have quality defensive ‘pieces’ to build around? | The Athletic
Inside linebacker. The Giants have to consider starting from scratch at this position. They can create $9 million in cap savings with $5.5 million in dead money by cutting Bobby Okereke this offseason.
The silver lining to the Lisfranc injury that has sidelined Micah McFadden since the opener is that it should make him cheap to re-sign. McFadden is a limited player, but he has value as the team’s second or third inside linebacker. The Giants are going to need to invest in free agency or the draft to add a top-level linebacker this offseason.
NFL Week 15 Preview: Schedule, storylines, matchups to watch | PFF
Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin (79.7 grade; 15th) missed most of the first half of the season due to injury, but has stepped back into the lineup in the last two weeks and made a noticeable impact on the offense — catching 10 passes for 137 yards and a touchdown, earning a 76.0 overall PFF grade. Whether it’s Jayden Daniels (74.9 grade; 12th) or Marcus Mariota (71.1 grade; 19th) under center, McLaurin is going to get open and demand the ball — though Giants corner Cor’Dale Flott (68.3 grade; 34th) will look to limit those opportunities.
Flott leads the Giants in PFF coverage grade (70.9), allowing 32 catches for 403 yards on 58 targets, and has a team-leading seven pass breakups on the year. His 55.2% completion rate when targeted is also the lowest on the team. The former third-round pick is a rangy corner with strong performances against some quality receivers in 2025. He’ll look to make the same impact against McLaurin.

New York Giants’ Brian Burns has triggered $1.8M contract incentive | USAToday.com
With 13.0 sacks through 13 games, Burns is on pace for a career-best 17, eclipsing his previous high of 12.5 set with the Carolina Panthers in 2022. His dominance hasn’t gone unnoticed: He’s the top Pro Bowl vote-getter at outside linebacker league-wide and in the NFC.
Financially, Burns’ surge triggered a $1.8 million incentive for hitting 12.5 sacks — achieved in Week 11 — plus escalators boosting his 2026 base salary to $24.1 million, and cap hit to $36.6 million.

Kliff Kingsbury: “Scoring zero points shouldn’t happen in the NFL” | Hogs Haven
Kliff Kingsbury regrets a lot of things about the Commanders’ 31-0 loss to the Vikings last week. “Scoring zero points shouldn’t happen in the NFL.” There were questions about his play calling on Washington’s opening drive. They got the ball to the two-yard line, but only ran it on 1st down. They threw the ball from shotgun three times and turned the ball over on downs after Deebo Samuel failed to secure a pass in the back of the end zone. “There’s 30 plays in that game I wish I’d called something differently. … There weren’t a lot of great play calls in that game. And like I said, that’s on me and I’ve got to get better.”
4 takeaways from Marcus Mariota’s Week 15 press conference | Commanders.com
There’s also the culture head coach Dan Quinn and his staff have built to consider. They want their players to compete in every game, no matter the external factors, and that’s something the players are still bought into.
“You’re setting a foundation,” Mariota said. “We talked about it in the team room and amongst the team, it’s setting a culture. We talk about a culture, we talk about the brotherhood, it’s really these moments that tell you who you are. And it’s never easy, it’s not easy to go out here when it’s 20 degrees in practice. And at the same time, it’s a great learning tool for everybody here. And the more that we can just build off of that and build for each other, the future will be better.”
NFL Week 15 latest buzz, questions, news and fantasy tips | ESPN.com
What the 3-10 Commanders will do with second-year QB Jayden Daniels the rest of the season is a topic of some conversation around the league. Some have suggested resting Daniels for the remainder of a lost season in which he has already missed time with three separate injuries, though what the team and Daniels have said publicly so far indicates that he will play if healthy. We’ll see if the thinking changes.
There are people around the league who think Washington isn’t doing Daniels a lot of favors with the amount of no-huddle offense and the sheer number of plays the Commanders run in games, though that might be an outdated critique. Washington ran the fifth-most offensive plays of any team in 2024. This season, it has run the 23rd-most, but it also hasn’t been as successful on offense, so time of possession is way down, too. Some also feel there’s a discussion Washington needs to have about how much it is exposing Daniels to potential contact with designed runs on first down. Daniels has the ninth-most first-down rushing attempts of any QB in the league this season despite playing only seven games.
