The Kansas City Royals added another reliever to the 40-man roster when they traded for Easton McGee from the Milwaukee Brewers.
To make room for McGee on the 40-man roster, the Royals transferred right-handed pitcher Nick Mears to the 60-day Injured List.
McGee, 28, had two stints with the Brewers this season, from April 10-17 and May 1-3, and appeared in 2 games with the big league club, recording 2.0 scoreless innings with 1 strikeout. His other 25 appearances (4 starts) this year came with Triple-A
Nashville, where he pitched to a 5.62 ERA (26 ER in 41.2 IP) with 43 strikeouts (22.5 K%).
Since the start of 2025, he’s gone 9-2 with a 4.53 ERA (45 ER in 89.1 IP) with Triple-A Nashville, while holding opponents to a .239 batting average (83-for-347).
