Caroline Dubois has officially signed with Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, ahead of her WBC lightweight title defense on the Paul vs Anthony Joshua card on December 19.
The move was expected, as we’ve seen the winds of change hit women’s boxing in a big way. With Turki Alalshikh controlling much of the bigger boxing cards out there these days, and neither he nor Premier Boxing Champions showing much or any interest in the women’s side of the sport, Paul’s company has become a refuge for women’s boxing,
as they’ve invested heavily and signed many of the top names.
Dubois (11-0-1, 5 KO) will be facing Italy’s Camila Panatta (8-2-1, 1 KO) on the December 19 prelims, prior to the main card on Netflix.
That same card will also feature Alycia Baumgardner defending her WBA, IBF, and WBO super featherweight titles against Leila Beaudoin, undisputed bantamweight champion Cherneka Johnson putting her belts on the line against Amanda Galle, and Yokasta Valle defending the WBC minimumweight title against Yadira Bustillos.
MVP also has Amanda Serrano returning to action on January 3, defending her WBA and WBO featherweight titles against Erika Cruz in Puerto Rico, and that card will also see Stephanie Han put her WBA lightweight title up against veteran Holly Holm, who returned to boxing this past June after 12 years spent out of the sport and focused on her mixed martial arts career with UFC.
