Luis Díaz has brought an intensity and flair from Liverpool to Bayern Munich. The Colombian international has wasted no time in gelling with his new teammates in Bavaria, and even when he’s not banging
in the goals, he is catching the eye of his teammates.
“He’s very passionate about football. You never get the feeling he’s tired. He always wants the ball and always wants to play forward. He hardly ever loses the ball. He’s doing very, very well,” teammate Joshua Kimmich said approvingly after Bayern’s 4-0 win over SV Werder Bremen on Friday, as captured via @iMiaSanMia.
Díaz scored a goal, so to speak, deflecting Jonathan Tah’s backheel into the net. But it was the Bayern defender who got the credit for it — which leaves the ex-Reds star’s tally at ‘only’ three goals and three assists apiece in five Bundesliga starts this year. However, he will undoubtedly get more — and the way he is playing, he is indispensable to Bayern’s flying start to the season regardless.
Bayern Munich was the home side in the Bundesliga on Friday when Werder Bremen came to town.
The Bavarians decimated the visitors 4-0 in a game that was never really close. Bayern Munich was relentless and dominant in every aspect of the match. It is not as if Werder Bremen did not try, but the players just could not match up with the machine that was Bayern Munich.
Let’s get into all of the details — here is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
- A look at the starting XI — Tom Bischof and Leon Goretzka got the nod in the central midfield because Joshua Kimmich was sick.
