The Portland Trail Blazers have upgraded center Robert Williams III to questionable to play in Friday’s home game against the Denver Nuggets, meaning he could make his season debut.
Williams is listed as questionable on the injury report due to his G League assignment with the Rip City Remix. The Blazers assigned Williams to the Remix on Monday for return-to-court conditioning. The initial cause of Williams’ absence stems from an arthroscopic procedure he underwent last March to address inflammation
in his left knee. He last appeared in a game on Feb. 20.
Elsewhere on the injury report, Blazers wing Matisse Thybulle is out due to a sprained left thumb. Thybulle exited after the first quarter of Portland’s 136-134 win over the Utah Jazz on Wednesday due to the thumb injury.
Portland forward Kris Murray is questionable to play against Denver due to an illness. He missed Wednesday’s game due to the same issue. Blazers starting guard Shaedon Sharpe is probable to play as he deals with left calf soreness.
The Blazers tip off against the Nuggets on Friday at 7 p.m. Pacific.
